Faith in Humanity

Tuesday was a hard day. Dean had been away almost a week for work.

It started off so lovely with a coffee catch-up with my friend Lee. From there it went south.

Maisie developed conjunctivitis. Frankie was experiencing BIG emotions and I needed to get them outside and to the pharmacy for some eye drops.

In hindsight taking the double pram was a good idea! The trip down the street was fine. The trip back unfortunately was not the case. Frankie was writhing and screaming to get out of the pram like a girl possessed and then finally told me a shoe had fallen off right as we were about to arrive home...EFFFFFF!!!!

Back down the street, we go with her still hysterical and my anxiety levels reaching boiling point. In the meantime, Maisie has done an atomic poop that was causing a rather displeasing aroma. Find the shoe, run back up the hill with a realisation of how unfit I am.

Get to the house, Frankie is refusing to exit the pram. But I really gotta deal with this poo. Drag her in, slam wire door, trying to change the poop with Maisie trying to fling the nappy full of said poop and Frankie screaming and crying in my face when the doorbell rings.

Stranger - Hello?

Me: Hello, can I help you?

Stranger - Are you Eliza?

Me: Yes

Stranger. I think you dropped your wallet back there

Me - (crying now) Oh my God!

Stranger - I'll leave it here on the mat. I can hear you have your hands full

Me (Sobbing) Thank you so much (running to the door with the half-naked child in arms

Stranger - That's ok. Have a good one.

Me: Thank you!

Honestly every time I talk about this I cry. I felt like the worst mum this day.

I was not patient, I didn't feel kind.

I felt next-level anxiety and I felt alone.

And then this absolute legend makes my day in a fleeting moment of doing something so selfless and kind.

I hope I see you again mate! You deserve a coffee and a high five!
