Hello, morning my old friend.

Today marks the first day that I am up on my own. It's just me and the silence is beautiful. I've made myself a cup of tea, I can hear my thoughts, a clock ticking and the gentle tapping of my keyboard and that is it. No kids, no dog, no man. ALONE!

I probably shouldn't be enjoying this so much but I am. I know I'll be ready to climb into bed by 7 pm but I don't mind. Life is good when you have a moment to fill your cup and this is mine.

This is such a really simple step to getting back to me even if the only time I get to myself is in the early hours. Morning is a time when I feel the most clarity and I don't feel anxious about what today's news will bring.

Lockdown 4.0 brought with it a considerable amount of anxiety for me. I got the palps (heart palps) and I still feel a bit trapped. There is so much uncertainty right now and all I want to do is take the fam on a holiday which is pretty much impossible! Anyway enough of that! Mental health can be discussed in another post!

Good morning! I know I'm speaking to a certain audience here, I'm not a night owl. I'm a morning song. So all my early risers this one is for you! What do you love about it?

There is something so soothing about morning time and it's more than the quiet. It's full of beautiful things to experience.

Here are some of my faves:

The sun rising. When is the last time you saw it rise? Maybe you can watch it tomorrow. You won't regret it.

The birds are waking. I'm a bird lover from way back and hearing these beautiful creatures call out into the peaceful morning is one of my favourite sounds.

If you're a planner you can prep and plan your whole day in this time before the household wakes.

Baking. Is there anything better than waking up to the smell of freshly baked goods?

Read a book or draw some cards. I love reading in the morning time as if it is night time there is no way I'm lasting more than a page before I wake hours later with a book on my face and glasses still on.

Writing. I do a bit of content creation and copywriting from home and I usually do it in the mornings when I'm fresh and the girls are still asleep. It's when my creativity is at its peak!

It's also a perfect time to learn something new.

Going for a walk is also a great one but right now it's 2 degrees in Geelong so I think I'll settle for another cuppa and a hot shower x
