Here's to Christmas.

Updated: Oct 14, 2020

It's still pretty heavy in Victoria.

If you are not living in the state you simply cannot understand what we are going through. I want to be clear that this is ok.

Here's a few answers to the questions interstaters are wanting to ask:

Q. What's the latest with restrictions? A. I actually don't know, unless it's along the lines of BE FREE I'm staying home and just being cautious.

We are still in lockdown until we meet the averages we need.

Q. What have you been up to?

A. Not much mate! And if you ask me in a week the answer will be the same. We can't really socialise, its been 3 months since I last saw my family and friends in the flesh.

Q. What's on for the weekend?

A. A take away coffee, probably a walk or a trip to a park, a trip to the shops but it'll be quick and we'll see my Auntie (our one person bubble buddy) if we're lucky.

When I call my Melbourne friends we always ask what we've been up to and end up in fits of laughter. At least we can laugh! I'm in regional Vic and we do have a bit of an ease in restrictions but life ain't anywhere close to the same.

It can be hard to focus on the positive but I must say this entire situation has actually made me a whole lot more grateful for what I do have. I appreciate things even more than before. Dean and my relationship has become even deeper because we are with each other 24/7 and have each other to talk things out and experience this with. I'm super grateful that we have things like Facetime so Frankie can see and remember the important people in her life and become familiar with them before they jump out from the screen and into real life. I appreciate being home with her and watching her development. It's the coolest thing I've ever witnessed. Less is more - I was always running around from one thing to the next before Frankie and I was exhausted! Since having her I've slowed and this pandemic has created a slower element which I actually love. Being at home is a joy to me now.

When we put aside the fact that we can't see who we want to see and can't out like we used to what are a couple of things you are glad you have in your life right now?

Here's cheers to Christmas, a time that we will hopefully be spending with our loved ones again...in the same room and not through a screen. Celebrating with all the more meaning after not seeing them for a VERY long time! I've almost finished Christmas shopping (yep I'm that girl) and I will decorate my house within an inch of its life because I can already see how magical this Christmas will be. I hope that you can see this too x
