We have just reclaimed our bedroom and in a few simple steps turned it into an incredible space that I am currently sitting in and feeling emotional.
8 months was a long time to share a room with a baby and all the baby things for us personally, so we began to make a little bit of a plan to move Maisie out and set up a parents retreat for the moments we got a little time to ourselves.
Originally we were going to move the girls into the same room but the timing is wrong.
So Maisie's room was a project that needed to begin STAT!
It was currently set up as a guest room. HA! Who has guests anymore? I mean I know lockdown is over but that room lay stagnant for a good 7 months maybe more with a handful of guests over last summer it seemed unfair to not create a beautiful room for Maisie to enjoy and grow in.
However, like all plans, it was not without complications. Before we could move Maisie out we had to do a little Reno and paint job to make her room liveable.
The timing must have been spot on because Maisie's room was completed within a week! We got so lucky with contractors being able to fit us in for the job the same week they came and quoted...unheard of in covid times!
So just like that. She is in a big girl room (wahhhhhhhh) and we have a big gap in ours!
Dean and I got to work cleaning and restyling our room. Repurposing pieces of furniture from around the house where we could, and selling what we didn't need to people who needed it more.
We have a few key pieces shown here - The Togo Settee and beautiful rug but the final piece in our master puzzle was to get some large greenery! Is there anything better than bringing the outdoors in? Especially when a tropical holiday feels like it will have to wait a while!
Plants were guaranteed to make our space really luxe and let me be honest I've always dreamed of waking up surrounded by beautiful tall plants.
NEXT DAY...
Hi Plant friends! Thank you Adam from Plant Addicts Annoymous Pakington Street. Love your work!
It's Something so simple.
Why do we hold off doing things that bring us so much joy? Seriously? We only live once...buy the plants! Dean says our room will now have the purest of air...he ain't wrong!
So welcome to my jungle, but also for being here to read my random and wild musings.
Our Master bedroom is once again our sanctuary. Neat, green & calming.
I'll be here if you need me xo
Looks wonderful!
