Dean and I have a thing.
It started when I was up in the night feeding or pumping when Frankie was very young.
He would wait up with me (what a guy) and we would watch something together each night to pass the time and have a laugh!
We were always so tired so we started what we called a 'pump list.' These are specific types of films. Ones that didn't matter how many times you had to stop/start or if you accidentally fell asleep in. These films didn't win any academy awards. They are a lot further down the list and sometimes took a little digging to find.
One of the first ones I picked has stayed with us. It was called 'The Stuff' look it up and give it a go. A white alien goo becomes a popular dessert but alas it turns people into zombies! Who doesn't love a zombie film? It's just the right level of ridiculousness!
FYI Prime seems to have a lot of these little gems!
The pump list is still going to this day. It's definitely made a comeback now with our new little Moo. We have taken it to the next level and are constantly trying to one-up each other with the weirdest or dumbest thing we can find.
The only rule? You have to watch it ALL unless you both agree it's too bad and cannot be done. I know right, this is what our life has come to haha but I really love it and it gives us a thing that is purely ours. It may not make a whole lot of sense to you but that's just our humour. When a choice is made with this in mind there are some serious gems...and serious fails! Regardless it's very entertaining.
WINNERS:
"Once bitten" is a vampire film with a young Jim Carrey. It's a delight!
"Highway to Hell' with Chad Lowe (yep Rob has a brother) was better than expected.
DOOZIES:
'Cool World' with Brad Pitt. A poor man's Roger Rabbit with so much going on it literally hurt my brain.
'Mortdecai' enough said...
SPECIAL MENTION:
'Vampire's kiss' with Nick Cage. this was honestly the hardest film I've ever had to sit through (Soz Nick) It was painful in so many ways. We almost gave up on it but we made the decision to see it through till the end. I dare you to try it! It's punishing!
Do you and your partner/friends/family have a thing like this? Something that is purely yours and is a bit silly but in the best way?
In times like these, we should focus on the things that bring us laughs! This does it for us!
